Sustainability isn’t a bolt-on initiative at Dorotape - it’s embedded in how we operate every day.
From supporting our team and local community to reducing our environmental impact, we place sustainability at the heart of our decision-making. Every operational choice is considered through the lens of environmental responsibility.
As a Good Business Charter accredited business, we believe doing the right thing should be standard practice. By putting people and planet first, we demonstrate that ethical governance, fair treatment and environmental responsibility are not just good principles, they are good business.
Our GBC DNAOur net-zero commitment.
Our commitment to the planet goes far beyond words. We have worked with the University of Leicester through its Climate Leadership Programme to become Carbon Literate, strengthening our understanding of the climate challenge and our role within it. We have also signed up to the SME Climate Hub, reinforcing our commitment to a net-zero future.
Our Carbon Reduction Plan sets out:
- Our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions baseline
- Measurable reduction targets
- Clear actions to achieve a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030
We have already implemented meaningful changes, including the installation of LED lighting across our office and warehouse spaces, with motion sensors to reduce unnecessary energy consumption in certain areas, roof re-insulation to minimise heat loss, and EV charging points to support lower-emission transport.

Net-zero vs carbon neutral: what's the difference?
Carbon neutral can be achieved by paying a fee to offset an organisation's carbon emissions. Net-Zero calls for internal reductions in a carbon footprint to be made, and for the residual emissions to be offset through specific carbon removal projects.
Our focus is firmly on reduction first, offsetting second as we continue to work towards net-zero emissions by 2050.

While recycling at home is important, the real opportunity lies in reshaping how our sector operates. The graphics and materials industry has significant influence and therefore significant responsibility.
For many years, Dorotape has positioned itself at the forefront of offering more sustainable material alternatives. We work closely with global manufacturing partners to source and supply:
- Materials made from recycled polyester
- Recycled and recyclable paper solutions
- Lower-impact alternatives to traditional plastic-based products
But supply alone is not enough. Education is equally important. We actively share knowledge from manufacturers’ R&D teams with our customers, helping them understand material choices, lifecycle impact and practical application. When our customers are better informed, they are better equipped to make more sustainable decisions - and unlock new commercial opportunities in the process.
We believe sustainability should be collaborative. By working together across the supply chain, we can accelerate meaningful change for our industry.
