The brief.

Creative print agency Tangerine Red, were invited to create window graphics for University of Northampton, covering three locations: the Creative Hub and two areas within the St Johns Halls.

All buildings remained in daily use, meaning the graphics needed to balance high visibility, natural light, and daytime privacy without creating a closed-in feel.

The solution.

Tangerine Red specified D-View Micro Perforated Vinyl, chosen for its:

• One-way vision properties - privacy from the outside while keeping interiors bright
• Stategic light transmission - the micro-perforation pattern allows natural daylight to pass through
• Smooth, uniform print surface - delivering sharp printed detail across large panes
• Strong but removable adhesive - ideal for active campus buildings

On one section featuring unusually wide window frames, Tangerine Red also infilled the frames — a technique we frequently use for this type of installation. This provided a cleaner, uninterrupted visual finish, maintaining design integrity and improving the overall aesthetic when viewed from outside.
